Last week, Dr Agnès Rannou took Fashion and Interior Design students to the Musée d’Orsay. A former railway station, the museum is the home of some of most exceptional works of art (paintings, sculptures, furniture and photography) produced from 1848 to 1914. These include works by Gustave Courbet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Edouard Manet, Paul Cézanne, Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet. Students were introduced to a variety of art movements, such as Academism, Realism, Impressionism and Symbolism.
